HAHNEMANNIAN OATH CEREMONY – FIRST BHMS PROFESSIONAL YEAR STUDENTS – PIONEER HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL

The Hahnemannian Oath is a solemn pledge taken by homeopathic practitioners, inspired by the teachings of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy. Let me share with you the essence of this oath:
-
Consecration to Service: Each practitioner pledges to consecrate their life to the service of humanity.
-
Ethical Use of Knowledge: Even under threat, they commit not to use their medical knowledge contrary to the laws of humanity.
-
Respect for Human Life: They maintain the utmost respect for human life.
-
Patient-Centric Approach: Considerations of religion, nationality, race, political beliefs, or social standing will not intervene between their duty and the patient.
-
Practice Principles: They promise to practice their profession with conscience and dignity, adhering to the principles of homeopathy and/or the biochemic system of medicine (tissue remedies).
-
Patient’s Well-Being: The health of the patient remains their first consideration.
-
Confidentiality: They respect the secrets confided to them.
-
Gratitude to Teachers: Teachers receive the respect and gratitude due to them.
-
Honoring Traditions: They uphold the honorable traditions of the medical profession.
-
Collegial Bonds: Colleagues are regarded as brothers and sisters.
-
Solemn Commitment: These promises are made solemnly, freely, and upon their honor.
Additionally, there is a heartfelt oath specific to Hahnemann himself:
“On my honor, I swear that I shall practice the teachings of homeopathy, perform my duty, render justice to my patients, and help the sick whosoever comes to me for treatment. May the teachings of Master Hahnemann inspire me, and may I have the strength for the fulfillment of my mission.”
